🚨 Paint, Splash, and Waddle: Beaufort’s Coolest Winter Event!

🐧❄️ Hurry — only 50 brave penguins can make a splash before spots melt away!

This family-friendly event gives local families something joyful to look forward to between the holidays. We're inviting up to 50 brave young penguins to take a small splash in the outdoor pool for a morning of cool-weather fun, creativity, and community spirit.

Each participant will retrieve a “Love Rock” from the pool — safely guided by lifeguards and staff dressed in festive penguin gear — before heading to paint, decorate, and take home their personalized creation.

Parents can join their children in the pool at no additional cost. Younger children will explore the zero-depth entry zone, while older kids retrieve rocks in the three-foot section of the pool.

After the splash, participants can enjoy hot cocoa and cookies, play winter-themed games, and take part in fun contests like “Best Penguin Waddle” and “Coolest Costume.”

Registration is just $10 per child and includes all activities plus a keepsake “Love Rock.” Children registered will also receive a limited-edition cinch bag — a perfect badge of bravery for Beaufort’s newest winter tradition!

*** If forecasts at 5pm on December 22 show that rain will be present or the temperature will be under 50F on Saturday, we will move the event indoors to Battery Creek Pool and send you a notification by email on Tuesday, December 23.

💦 Got a little one who can’t swim yet? No worries — parents can hop in the pool at no extra charge to help their child snag the perfect rock. And don’t stress: lifejackets will be available.
